Emmanuel is a Partner with the Venture Capital Management Company Karista and co-manages the Cosmi Capital fund.
For Cosmi Capital, he invested in four start-ups: BforeAI (Cybersecurity), LooUpSpace (Space Situational Awareness), Miratlas (Atmospheric Monitoring) and 10 Lines (Robotics).
Before joining Karista, Emmanuel followed a career in technology management, entrepreneurship and venture capital.
Emmanuel holds an Engineering degree of the Ecole Centrale de Paris, and of the RWTH Aachen (Germany). He is an MBA alumni of INSEAD.

Véronique de la Casa is the Head of Start-Up Development at the Centre National d’Études Spatiales (CNES) in Toulouse, France, a role she has held since January 2022. She focuses on supporting Newspace startups in finance and business matters and is involved with ESA incubation centers in France. Previously, she worked as a Business Development Officer at CNES from 2018 to 2021, where she contributed to the “Connect by CNES” initiative and supported companies in project building, particularly in relation to the COSMI CAPITAL space fund.

Lucie Campagnolo is the CEO of SpaceFounders, a key figure in the European space industry with over a decade of experience in space technology and healthcare innovation. She previously founded Apollo Moment Consulting, specializing in business development for space companies. At MEDES, she coordinated downstream space applications and managed life science experiments on the International Space Station. Lucie is known for her leadership in fostering innovation and collaboration within the space sector.
Lucie Campagnolo holds a Doctor of Philosophy (Ph.D.) in Optics/Optical Sciences from Toulouse INP, where she focused on lab-on-chip design, optical biosensors, and biophotonics (2009-2012). She also earned a Master of Engineering (M.Eng.) in Electrical Engineering from Toulouse INP (2006-2009). Her academic background is deeply rooted in advanced engineering and optical sciences, laying the foundation for her subsequent career in space technology and innovation.

Dr Gianluigi Baldesi is the Head of Ventures and Financing Office at the European Space Agency with 20+ years of business and technology leadership experience for future aerospace missions in a cross-cultural environment. In his experience in the Agency, he has served several positions in the Technical and Space Transportation Directorate including the Strategy Department under the ESA Director General.
He holds a PhD in systems engineering from Supaero and Sapienza University of Rome and executive MBA from Columbia Business School and London Business School.

A European Space Tech start-up example
Michel Friedling

Profile
Major General (retired) of the French Air and Space Force Michel Friedling is a fighter pilot and holds a degree in aeronautics and space engineering. He held various responsibilities relating to strategy, finance and innovation within the Ministry of the Armed Forces.
He is one of the main actors in the development of the French Defense Space Strategy published in July 2019. He became in September 2019 the first commander of the French Space Command where he headed military space operations and military space policy implementation.
His leadership has been key in the rise of the French space defense capabilities, the result of joint work with the French Space Agency (CNES), the Directorate General for Armaments (DGA) as well as industrial and foreign partners.
After four years at the head of French space capabilities and defense space policy, he now devotes himself to the development of Look Up Space.
He is also Board Member of E-SPACE, the next generation constellation, and Strategic Advisor of DESTINUS, the European Company addressing the challenge of hypersonic and low carbon aviation.
